Sedona Day Hikes
We did several of these. We spent the first day walking to some of the vortexes, including the one near Boynton Canyon, Bell Rock, and the Chapel of the Holy Cross, a beautiful chapel built right into the side of the mountain by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Then we opted for some longer hikes, including Devil's Bridge and the full Boynton Canyon hike. Devil's Bridge is a natural bridge that looks like some rocks are just stuck together, but you can actually walk across it. And Boynton Canyon is a long hike, and goes through so many different types of landscape that it doesn't feel that long. Plus, there are so many Ponderosa Pines, which smell so amazing!
There's a great book called The Top Ten Hikes in Sedona, but don't buy it at Joe Wilcox's - they'll rip you off!

You can't really tell from the photo, but the last picture is a skunk! And there's another in there of a tarrantula that we found while on a back country road looking for John McCain's ranch. The road was called Hidden Valley Ranch Road. ;-)
